Monday Musings.

{via}

We had a few days of glorious fall weather, then it turned warm again this past weekend… which I love because I am not fully ready to commit to the cold weather! My mom came into town, and we took a couple of day trips to some surrounding Nashville areas over the weekend. It was MUCH needed for both of us! Here are some things that have popped up on my radar this weekend…

Regardless of the warm weather, I am making this soup this week. And my favorite fall scones, too!

The power of a compliment. LOVE THIS!

Really inspired by these beautiful living spaces!

Cool article alert: How you make decisions says a lot about how happy you are.

Obsessed with all things Christine Centenera.

My favorite summertime cocktail is a gin & tonic. This recipe has a fall twist to it!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Skirt Love.

This Sidney Clark Designs pleated maxi skirt has been the fall equivalent of a maxi dress for me. I've been LOVING it! Worn here with a tank top, it was the perfect fall outfit for the beautiful 70 degree days we've been having lately. Add booties, and you're set! I've also thrown one of Sidney Clark's moto jackets over it for a chic - and slightly warmer - look!

My favorite ways to wear a maxi skirt:

* Pair with a chambray shirt (This and this are good options), cute hat, and booties.

*Add a plain white v-neck t-shirt and scarf for an easy (and comfy) look! My favorite white t-shirts are this Monrow one (I love it both black and white) and this Everlane one!  The Everlane one is AMAZING quality for the $15 price tag, too!

* Tuck in a thin sweater with a high/low hem, like the tuck I've done in the above photo, and let the back hang down. Add boots and a scarf to complete the look! Love this scarf from Sidney Clark Designs because it's long enough to wear many ways.

Happy fall dressing!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was great, mainly because we finally tried out Pinewood Social (SO GOOD) and two of our favorite shows were on last night: Homeland AND the season premier of The Walking Dead! Here are some cool links to browse on this Monday morning...

Everyone is doing it. Including me. But…. have you seen my hair?

Sidney Clark Designs: Our Looks for Less, Part 3.

I love stumbling on pictures of clothing that looks exactly like Sidney Clark pieces, and it keeps happening! (Which makes me SO happy!) I love it even more when our pieces are just a fraction of the cost! Here are a few more look-alikes…

Monday Musings.

{via}

As much time as I spend online during a normal week, I'm bound to come across sites, articles, recipes, and tidbits that I want to share with others and save for future reference. I thought I would start a series on my blog that showcased some of my favorite findings around the Internet. Enjoy!

Kind of love the concept behind this website: 12-Hour City Guides. I have many of my own, too, so shoot me an email if you ever want my personal city guides!

Never wash your nice jeans again. Freeze them.

Chris and I love Bulletproof coffee! Read about it here.

I loved reading this article about disappointment. This year has been a rough one, and I appreciated the simple, straight-forward thoughts on the subject.

Apple, pear, and gin cocktail? I think so!

Really enjoyed this Buzzfeed video on coffee hacks. I freeze my left-over coffee in ice trays all the time, putting them in smoothies/protein shakes!

Friday Favorites.

This week's Friday Favorites is all about fall! Check out the things I've been crazy about lately...

Been LOVING this wool panama hat! Since it's still in the 80s here in Nashville, I've been wearing it with ripped boyfriend jeans and white t-shirts. It's that perfect balance between structured and floppy. Bonus: it looks way more expensive that its $50 price tag!

These Sam Edelman "Louie" booties are MY.ALLTIME.FAVORITES!! I have had these since 2009 and have worn them to death!! They are scuffed up and worn, and I absolutely love them that way. I can wear them to travel in…work all day (on concrete floors) in these…and wear them with shorts, dresses, and skinny jeans. They are truly the perfect bootie! They can be worn all year long, too. I've never worn a more comfortable shoe! Get them… you will thank me 1000 times over ;) (They come in several colors, as well as both suede and leather.)

I read about this gem on Self Magazine's website recently and promptly went and bought it...
Sonia Kashuk's Radiant Boost Restorative Facial Oil. I am all about facial oils since my skin has decided to pull a fast one on me and become very dry. I know facial oils can get expensive, which is why I was so excited about this one only being $14.99! This anti-aging serum has a blend of 9 oils in it, including Sweet Almond Oil to soften, Bergamot Essential Oil to purify, BerryFlux Vita to boost skins moisture, Sesame Seed Oil to condition, Evening Primrose Seed Oil to nourish and regenerate, and Black Currant Seed Oil to soothe the skin. Another thing I love is it has stabilized Retinol, which protects against aging and reduces lines and wrinkles over time. I've used it almost a week and LOVE it! My skin is so soft when I wake up in the mornings, and it hasn't broken out my sensitive skin which is impressive in itself.

Here are a couple of other fall goodies I'm loving
These pumpkin oat bars are healthy and delicious! Perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up!
Obsessed with this morning combo.
This pasta has been a favorite in my house for years!
I plan on making this granola soon, too.
